|
LINK-PIPE® Repair Sleeves shall have adequate longitudinal length to span the damaged area
and extend at least six (6”) inches into sound pipe on both
sides of the damaged section.
|
|
Cleaning
|
All obstructions protruding more than ¼”
from the inner surface of the sewer pipe, any loose pipe
pieces, and any sharp objects shall be removed.
The
pipe shall be cleaned and all deposits which may prevent the
proper installation of the repair sleeves shall be removed. |
|
Step #1:
Once the repair location has
been cleaned from debris, the LINK-PIPE® sleeve is moved into
place. In case access is restricted, sleeves are passed through
unassembled and put together in the manhole or at the repair
location.
|
|
Step #2:
O-rings F are placed
into prepared grooves on the sleeve.
Note: Only
Manufacturer specified O-ring materials should be used to suit
the chemical environment.
|
|
Step
#3:
For installation, a vertical
jack is used to lift the crown segment A until the O-rings are
tightly compressed against the host-pipe crown.
|
|
Step
#4:
A horizontal jack
is then taken and placed between the side flaps D & C and expanded. The
installation process is complete when the flaps snap out and
create a smooth circle. Note: Flaps on one side always go out
first. The other side follows next with an audible snap. This is
the sign of a tight installation.
|
|
|
|
Step
#5:
Annular space is
then pumped full of chemicals or cementitious grout. This
completes
the repair.
Note:
For sealing
infiltration the sealant used
shall be as specified by the Manufacturer.
For structural repair
a resin specified by the Manufacturer shall
be used if no infiltrating water is present.
Any infiltration shall be sealed before a sleeve using
structural grout is installed.
|
|
Step #6:
Verification of installation and sealing shall be
produced on a hand-held portable or remote control colour video
camera. All
pertinent information such as job location, pipe size, and the
station of the repair shall be noted on the audio portion of the
videotape. Each
repair sleeve shall be numbered and identified from manhole to
manhole location (section number, joint number, and installation
location).
