A REPAIR
SLEEVE comes in a package containing complete supplies
including the right amount of sealant ready for installation.
Before Installation please read installation tips enclosed
into shipping box. |
|
Step
#1: The SLEEVE is placed on the sewer plug. |
|
Step
#2: The grout is worked into gasket first under the
overlap Flap. |
|
Step
#3: Rubber bands are then pulled over the flap to
hold the overlap securely in place while the SLEEVE is
being transported through the pipe. |
|
Step
#4: The rest of the gasket is then filled with
grout. Grout must be applied evenly.
The Grout is easily absorbed and may leave some part of the
gasket empty if not carefully and evenly spread. This will
cause the failure in sealing.
NOTE:
All grout provided with the SLEEVE
should
be used up. For better seal, white end sealer are also painted
with grout.
|
|
Step
#5: The SLEEVE
is centered on the
plug and the label inside the sleeve should face
upwards. The plug is then inflated very slightly to
hold the SLEEVE firmly
on the Plug. |
|
Step
#6: CCTV camera is often connected to the Plug
cable looking back at the SLEEVE/plug assembly as it is
pulled into the pipe. |
|
Step
#7: CCTV camera being
passed into Access Chamber (Manhole) |
|
Step
#8: The SLEEVE usually
follows the inspection camera. |
|
Step
#9: Down in the Access Chamber CCTV camera and SLEEVE
are received and passed into the pipe.
NOTE: At
23°C (73°F) the Grout starts curing in approximately 20
minutes from the time it came in contact with water. |
Step
#10: Schematic showing SLEEVE
being pulled to the repair location.
|
|
Step
#11: On the CCTV monitor the entire installation
process can be followed. |
|
Step
#12: The SLEEVE
arrives at the location of damage. To
install the sleeve, bring the air pressure to about 10 to
15-psi
above “Calibration pressure”. (Note: Calibration pressure
of a Link-Pipe Plug is the pressure required to expand the
plug so that it makes contact with the host pipe wall).
Release
the air pressure and check by camera if all locks are engaged.
NOTE:
- If
some locks are not engaged, insert the plug again, move
the plug to the unlocked end of the sleeve and apply 5 psi
more pressure and repeat the installation.
-
The SLEEVE Should be installed before the Grout cures.
|
|
Step
#13: POST-INSTALLATION QUALITY CONTROL
The project is
considered completed when:
-
All
enclosed grout is used up
-
-
All
damaged pipe is covered with the SLEEVE
-
Before
removing the CCTV camera from the pipe check that all
SLEEVE locks are engaged.
