Industrial pipe repair
applications use advanced information provided by
metallurgical and resin chemistry suppliers. Sleeves are often
made of
special steel alloys customized to fit the encountered industrial
process environment.

Link-Pipe Inc. has supplied to
Industry repair sleeves made of Titanium T-2 Sleeves for high acidity
and temperature environment,
Hastelloy C-22 Steel Sleeve for moderate acidity and Standard Stainless
Steel SST-316 Grouting Sleeves.
Usually these sleeves have
the selected alloy core structurally designed to AWWA M11 standard
for flexible tunnel liners. The diameter range is
4” to 54”.
The sleeves have tapered ends to provide a tight seal against
the host pipe and a smooth transition from the wall of the host pipe
into the sleeve.
With materials deliberately chosen
to withstand the attack from the owner specified chemicals, the
Industrial repair sleeves
restore the damaged pipe to acceptable service life.
The sleeve material is chosen in
co-operation with the owner’s engineering consultant.
Quality
control on primary materials, takes place in the steel mills and chemical
supply houses.
ASTM and CSA standards are followed and Mill-test Reports are
provided for each manufactured batch of material. During the Sleeve
manufacturing, Link-Pipe factory specific standards are followed.
Factor of safety of 2.5 to 3 is applied when safe superimposed load is
determined.
Link-Pipe repair technology is
known to reduce drastically the process interruption as many
installations are carried out while pipes remain in service.
